The hunt for a Devonshire tea

image from Whats cooking America
Today we went on the hut for the best Devonshire tea, we took a little drive out to Evandale at Ingleside bakery, we sat but an open fire and it was nice and cossie in there. Soon after we ordered two scones come out looking all yummy and served with raspberry jam and cream. Taste test = ok, they were hot but must have been put in a microwave because after a few mins the scones became a little hard which is not the nicest of things to happen.

So have decided that Neil Pits in Launceston does the best scones in town, well so far. I think there will need to be a bit more exploring to find another yummy spot for a Devonshire tea.

Does any one have any recommendations for places to go to in Launceston?

A combo of my two loves - Kitties & Tea

Anyone who knows me well knows that I just love cats I think I get that from my Nan she is a massive cat lover as well. My cats are spoilt rotten and one is very naughty wonder why think it was because he was the first pet in the house and just had loads of attention. If I had it my way I would already have a few more exotic kitties running around in my house “would just love to have a Scottish fold kitty or maybe another chinchilla they are my favourite bread, but I am not aloud “sad face”.

Plus there is my other love in life apart from my husband which is so tea, I am also a coffee lover as well but I am very fussy to how my coffee is made so I just opt for tea most of the times that I am out. This brings me to a cool little find this cute kitty cup and saucer I think one of these would be fitting for the office when I have a hot drink break.

Rain Rain Rain

It is really raining outside at the moment, I just love it when it rains at night and I have lots of work to do. Currently writing technical reports (computer geeky technical reports stuff like that which I do enjoy) and I just love it when its poring down and its night doing this type of work in a cosy room with a little desk lap on, oh bliss for me in a strange geeky kind of way.

Anyway the rain has inspired me to collect a few cute rain related finds and share with you all

Not so sunny QLD Trip

On Saturday last week my husband and I went up to Cairns for a few days over Easter. We took a late fight out and arrived in Cairns on Saturday night to lots and lots or rain.

On Sunday I caught up with my dad and we headed out to see my Nan, she is 79 this year and I have not seen her for about 8 years. The cool thing about seeing my Nan was that she did not know that I was coming up. So we arrived at my Nan’s house and my dad went in first then I walked in after, my Nan looked and me and I knew she could not recognised who I was. Then she realised who I was and she was in tears, she turned to her partner and said Bob, Bob, it’s my granddaughter. My Nan gave me the biggest hug and was super excited that I came up for a visit.

We all sat down and had a cup of tea and biscuits, and chatted a bit, Bob talked about when he lived in Hobart about 50 years ago, and my Nan talked about were she grew up. The stay was short because I was fighting a headache that I had for the last two days, not so fun.

Inspired to design

I have had this ring for a long time my dad has a stone cutting hobby and has cut many gemstones, this one he made for my mum when they first got together.

My mum gave me this ring a while back and its one of many beautiful fine jewellery pieces that I have in my collection. I don’t really ware many of my other rings because they don’t really go with my beautify wedding bands which is very Victorian inspired.

I have a massive love of Victorian jewellery and fashion, just recently I decided to get an idea that I had in my head and transform it into some lovely pieces

Here is a little sneak peek at a few pieces which is part of a Victorian inspired collection
